Lake George, Here We Come!
We hadn't visited Lake George in years. While we had heard it could get very busy in the summer months, we found it utterly captivating this time of year. There were very few people around. It was a challenge finding a restaurant a few times but it was a great trade-off for the peace, quiet and beauty of this lovely Adirondack resort area. Sue and I decided we'd return, again in the fall, with another letterbox or two for planting packed in our suitcases!
The view out of our condo! Can't beat that for great scenery.
A ferry coming across Lake George
Notice the snow on top of the mountains? Great contrast with the fall color on the trees.
The Sagamore resort from across the inlet

Sue feeds the ducks in this little pocket park by the water
Sue doesn't take many pictures but this one is one of my favorites.
On our way to plant The Sagamore Canoe letterbox, she spotted this furry friend cleaning up a tray that was left outside of a condo by one of the cleaning staff.
Four of us after we planted The Sagamore Canoe Box.
Aren't those automatic timers on cameras the best???
I'm not used to being in so many pictures - I'm usually behind the camera.
A view from the first of the Ridin' Hy Cowboy letterboxes
A raging stream we passed on the way back from the first

A bronze statue of an indian we passed as we headed
out to find the Fort George Letterbox.
The end of a perfect weekend! Do we look refreshed and relaxed?
